2009-04-27 04:19:53 goettlek description I used the method of ripping CDs found on the KDE website (http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdebase-runtime/userguide/audio-cd.html) in Kubuntu 9.04 Jaunty. I'm using the LAME 3.98-0.0 MP3 encoder and the ripping goes fine. I then open the MP3 in amarok and the only thing that plays is just static. The song should play in amarok but instead it is an incredibly loud static sound. I've tried multiple CD's with the same result. I've done this process in KDE 3.5.10 and it works just fine, but in KDE 4.2 it won't work. I tried removing and then reinstalling LAME but that was to no avail.
