For me, kwallet 4.13.0 does not accept the password for the default wallet, which i have used over years and should still be the same. I cannot access my passwords, which I consider extremely serious, as some of the passwords I do not remember (and haven't noted them down unfortunately).

Confirming bug on kubuntu 14.04 latest kde.
I use empty password but kwallet does not open: "Error code -9: Read Error"

Same thing as robegue. Empty password (as volume is encrypted anyway), can't open it anymore. Error 42 is shown. This is quite annoying as chromium uses kwallet, the wifi password is stored there etc. I just installed a fresh 14.04 as the latest version upgrade (15.04) simply broke everything here and wouldn't boot.

Is there any workaround or manual fix I can apply?

Thank you!
