Bug Description

I am testing karmic 64 bit and karmic 32 bit on the same machine. In the 32 bit install I use "Kuickshow" to view photos. On the 64 bit install I can not do the same because a dependency is missing. Kuickshow requires "imlib11" and that is not in the 64 bit karmic repositories.

Synaptic gives this error:
-------------------------------------------------------
kuickshow:
Depends: imlib11 but it is not installable
-------------------------------------------------------

This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in kuickshow.

I have the same problem. Are there any workarounds for installing imlib11?

The https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/imlib/1.9.15-8 tells:

1.9.15-8 DELETED: Karmic pocket Release in component universe and section graphics
Removal requested on 2009-04-29.

(From Debian) RoQA; GTK 1.2 deprecation

A workaround is to go to the http://packages.ubuntu.com/ and search and install (i'm using the i386) the latest released binaries (Distribution: Jaunty):

imlib-base_1.9.15-8_all
imlib11_1.9.15-8_i386

Then it is possible to install the kuickshow. It is working at here.
