Uninstalling gtk2-engines-gtk-qt reverts the behaviour, as expected. However, I think it would be better to ask the user if this is what he/she because it makes the gnome system seem broken. Ideally, the gtk apps should get the KDE look when run from KDE but not when run in gnome.
