Bug Description

1) Go to the "Samples" dir on the desktop.
2) Doubleclick on the .ogg video showing a sleepy dude
3) Watch Amarok beeing started (instead of a video player)

Conclusion: The file handler should not only rely on the file postfix but recognize the different between .ogg-audio and .ogg-video.

Daniel Robitaille (robitaille) wrote :

In the more recent version of Kubuntu (Daily 20060409), that specific ogg movie of a sleeping Matt Zimmerman has been replaced by the video SeeUbuntu.ogg. If you click on it, it uses Kaffeine to play the movie. If you click on the music file kalimoto-miracle-lemon.ogg in the Examples directory, it starts amarok. So it now appears to behave correctly and recognize the difference between ogg-video and ogg-audio.
