Qt keyboard was dropped upstream in favour of providing the right to choose...
Kubuntu offers on wayland under virtual keyboards an interface to select a virtual keyboard, but there are no alternatives selectable or installable.
There is no working virtual keyboard solution on Kubuntu 22.04 in particular when using wayland. Even on x11 the available alternatives (e.g. onboard) do not work well with KDE.

Btw, KDE neon seems to have solved this by including maliit in the upcoming 22.04 based release, but I would prefer sticking with KUbuntu...https:/ /www.kubuntufor ums.net/ forum/newbie- support/ help-the- new-guy/ 658673- maliit- keyboard- or-similar- virtual- keyboard- missing- in-wayland- session
