Bug Description

I think I found a bug in my kubuntu ver.7.04, by using the LIVE CD
option, and I have been able to make it happen over and over. The bug
is in the background setting. Steps that I had done as follows.
 1) Took a picture with my HP Photsmart R927 digital camera.
 2) Uploaded the picture off of the camera unto my desktop.
 3) Right-clicked my desktop to bring up "Configure Desktop" option.
 4) Choose the picture option, then clicked on the button to use my own
 picture.
 5) Choose the picture that I had taken with my digital camera, it
 showed up under preview,
then I press apply and the computer just froze, could not do anything.
After waiting for I would say an hour, I unplugged the computer and
replugged it in, to get it active.

Are you still experiencing this behavior? I am unable to confirm this in Hardy at this time. Thanks!

Wow, wrote this a long time ago. No the problem hasn't been seen since just installed it. The problem only happened when I ran it off of the CD-Rom.

Richard, I doon't know if this could be considered a bug, but here goes I've added MS Vista to my network farm, but it seems that Ubuntu cannot see it. All the older versions of Windows are seen. Here's the difference in the network for XP -vs- Vista. XP, and all previous versons of Windows run IP4, and Vista runs IP6. Is there going to be an upgrade/update to the networking protocol in the near future? Also of note, since the networking protocol has changed it's even a nightmare to get Windows XP, 2000, NT, and 9x versions onto a single network.

Thanks for the quick response. So I did read the report right and that it was on the LiveCD. I took a guess at at and tried on both the regular desktop and a Gutsy CD and was unable to confirm it. I will go ahead and mark this one as fixed release.

For the Vista/Ubuntu issue, Ubuntu comes with both IPv4 and IPv6 enabled by default. I would do some more testing, and then possibly file a bug against samba or something if you are using it. Hope that helps a bit, network land isn't my cup of tea :)
