When KDE4 released, the panel was restructured. KMenu became Kickoff Application Launcher, the default file browser is Dolphin instead of Konqueror since Kubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron). Now, the home folder can be opened by choosing Kickoff Application Launcher → Computer → Home folder.

I dont know if I should open a new bugreport for this, but a lot of strings are outdated in basic-concepts.
I cannot seem to find the proper option in Konsole setup to disable the system beep in karmic beta, so I suppose that this is also outdated.
