Bug Description

Since usplash started using 640x400 splash on amd64 Kubuntu no longer boots without turning off usplash.

Matt Zimmerman (mdz) wrote :

This shouldn't cause the boot to fail; please get confirmation on different hardware as it makes a difference in whether this is critical for the release candidate

Colin Watson (cjwatson) wrote :

It does eventually boot for me, but my monitor displays an "out of range" error while usplash is up (rather than just a blank screen); if I didn't know better I would certainly think it had crashed. I think this is near enough to confirmation.

status: Unconfirmed → Confirmed

This should fix it:

kubuntu-default-settings (1:6.10-60) edgy; urgency=low

  * Add 640x400 theme to usplash, needed to allow AMD64 to boot
