Kubuntu Package Manager problem: package doesn't get installed when it is in a directory with spaces on its name

Binary package hint: dpkg
When right clicking the mouse to install a .deb package if it is under a directory with "space" characters the dpkg command doesn't find it. It looks like a locale problem.

This is probably a bug in some wrapper program but I'll try to find out which one. It's far from clear that we ought to go around installing packages with double-clicks anyway!
