Bug Description

Binary package hint: dpkg

When right clicking the mouse to install a .deb package if it is under a directory with "space" characters the dpkg command doesn't find it. It looks like a locale problem.
Filesystem: Reiserfs 3.6
locale output:

This is probably a bug in some wrapper program but I'll try to find out which one. It's far from clear that we ought to go around installing packages with double-clicks anyway!

I can confirm this even in Kubuntu 6.10, fully updated to KDE 3.5.6.
I tried to install a package from "/home/nrg88/media1/Kitt Linux and other/Basket Note Pads" via the Kubuntu Package Menu in Konqueror, hitting right click.
I get:

dpkg: error processing /home/nrg88/media1/Kitt (--install):
cannot access archive: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing Linux (--install):
cannot access archive: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing and (--install):

dpkg: error processing other/Basket (--install):

dpkg: error processing Note (--install):
cannot access archive: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing Pads/basket_1.0-1_i386.deb (--install):

The bug exists in Feisty Fawn Beta too.

Anyone please fix this problem? We're getting close to Feisty release, and still it's impossible to install a deb file from a directory which has spaces in it's path.
