Bug Description

Binary package hint: kubuntu-default-settings

On first startup the desktop and twitter plasmoids overlap on small screens. The twitter plasmoid should not be added on small screens.

This bug was fixed in the package kubuntu-default-settings - 1:10.04ubuntu7

kubuntu-default-settings (1:10.04ubuntu7) lucid; urgency=low

  * Removed upslash theme (using playmouth in lucid+)
    + Don't build-depend on libusplash-dev
    + Remove CFLAGS from debian/rules
  * Bump debian/compat to 7
  * Bump Standards-version from 3.8.3 to 3.8.4
  * Add numbered suffix to the plasma configuration scripts, to allow
    controlled processing
  * Enhance plasma update script for 10.04 as per
  * Only add twitter plasmoid to activity if screen is >= 1024x768 (LP: #526488)
  * Make <3 the default emoticon string for the heart emoticon, previous was (L)

Not solved just yet. Needed modifcations to ensure this does not happen an weird resolutions.

kubuntu-default-settings 10.04ubuntu14 includes a fix "Only add microblog widget when absolute screen size is >=1024x768", presumably that isn't enough for this bug?

Just checked, works like a charm. However we should keep an eye on the underlying issue. There is no reason why plasma shouldnt be able to use the additional space on a wide screen and place the plasmoid next to the folderview...
