Bug Description

When I'm using KDE telepathy for AIM, I get a notification with an action bubble if I have a message and the window is hidden. If I click on it, nothing happens. The same action works just fine in Kopete, so this is a regression from what we had with it.

Using plasms-netbook, KDE 4.8.0.

Can you test something for me?

Have someone send you a message and click the "Respond" button immediately. Does it work?

Then have someone send you another message, move your mouse on the notification, wait a few seconds (at least 5) and then click the button. Does that work?

Thanks!

Nope. Neither works. Shadeslayer and I are testing now.

I've verified that notification actions work in both Quassel and Kopete on this
system.

I changed focus stealing prevention to none and it works, so that's a clue. Since this is a response to a user action, I think it should still work when it's set to low (Quassel and Kopete do).

I'm curious if the issues discussed in this thread might be relevant:

Were they addressed?

Yes, we actually went for the 'naughty' solution. But I see that is not working right now, so it must got broken.

It was working for shadeslayer, but not for me, so it's sort of broken. Any
information I can provide to help troubleshoot?

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in ktp-approver (Ubuntu):

Same here. There are two notification icons in which "new message" notifications sometimes appear:

1) The envelope, which gets a star. When I click on this the message pops up accurately in a telepathy window.

2) The (i) icon, which when I click on it pops up a notification box with the no-op respond button.

Version: 0.5.1. Very annoying.

Since KDE 4.10 has new QML based notifications and this bug was against the old notifications, please retest against the QML notifications. If the problem still persist, please file a bug at our bugzilla at bugs.kde.org - product telepathy - as that bugzilla is being watched by all our developers.

Thanks.
