description |
after upgrading to hardy and logging in for the first time to kubuntu hardy (with kde 3.5.9) i noticed that ksplash was very weird (that is, black background and blue squares appearing periodically) so i went into systemsettings--> splash screen which returned the error that moddin wasn't installed.
sudo apt-get install ksplash-engine-moodin
fixed this (obviously) but it should not have gotten removed in the first place!
thank you for your time and for fixing this ... imagine the first impression one has when logging into the brand new desktop :-) |

We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
According to bug 254012, this is a KDE3 package which is obsolete for KDE4. Accordingly, it's not even included in Ubuntu 8.10.
