Bug Description
Kubuntu LiveDVD downloaded from an approved mirror and burned to DVD. sha256sum matches for ISO and check media reports no issues.
After executing "Try Kubuntu" and finally getting to the desktop, Konsole opens, but upon pressing any key in the console window, X (or KDE?) seems to crash, showing me the text bootup screen for a few seconds and then some sort of Plasma screen requiring me to enter a password.
The only way to get a working command line is to use one of X's text console screens.
Very bizarre and I can't believe that I am either the only one to experience this or the first one to report it.
Here is the contents of /var/log/

I can reproduce this at will so please advise what else may be needed.

Trying to do the procedure outlined in http:// www.kubuntuforu ms.net/ showthread. php?60582- No-Konsole- startup- 12-10 via Dolphin causes the same crash upon first keypress in the Dolphin console, so no hope of getting any more information.
