Bug Description

Binary package hint: kompozer

I'm running Kompozer 0.8a3 (ppa version) on Ubuntu 9.04. I think that title is clear. You can use F3 or "Find next" to achieve a similar feature, but I think that it should be nice to edit the html while the dialog box is open.

A bit more information would be brill if thats ok.

First of all, it would be better if you didn't rely on the title to explain the bug :).

Also, could you tell us how you produced this problem in detail, because people such as me - new to kompozer might struggle to try and reproduce it.

And one other thing; as I said, I am new to kompozer, and for the bug to be confirmed we need to know what you would have expected to happen when you took the actions which produced the bug.

Please don't be put off by these criteria, they're just there to get bugs fixed as quickly and efficently as possible. And thank you for your bug report!

Regards,
Ben

I confirm that it is only possible to edit the searched element during a search operation. In the Design and in the Source tab.
This is a feature inherited from KpZ 0.7.10

Thank you for your quick answer. Lets try to be more clear:

Quick explanation:

I expected to write on the source without closing the "find and replace"
dialog window (see attached image).

Long explanation:

Lets say that you want to modify some text that you know that it's near the
expresion "name", and lets say that you have to repeat that action ten
times. Then you go to "Find and replace" and search "name". I think that it
should be better if you could modify that text near "name" without closing
the "Find and replace" dialog, so after modification you can go to the next
"name" easily. Of course, you can close the "Find and replace" dialog and
then use F3 to search the next "name", but thats not intuitive.

Obviously, it is not an ugly bug... just a sugestion to improve Kompozer. :)

Ah ok, I understand.

I'll leave this as confirmed, but an ubuntu bug controller might want to mark this as 'Wishlist'.
