skin settings are not saved

Bug Description
i go to system > interface > skin > configure skin
and set home window options to hide music and exit kodi then launch it again
1)
Description: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS
Release: 16.04

Version is 2:17.1+dfsg1-1
3)
skin settings should have been saved
4)
but they weren't
SOLUTION:
when i run kodi with sudo (root), and set the settings and launch it saves the skin settings
so i guess the issue is with premissions.
