Kodi will not load

Bug Description

I upgraded Ubuntu mate to 17.04 from 16.?? and kodi will not load. I uninstalled and reinstalled from the software Boutique and it still world not launch. I uninstalled a second time and installed from command line using the procedure on the Kodi.wiki. All to no avail.

Sorry no can do. I ended up wiping the computer and reloading with
Ubuntu Mate 17.10. Everything ran and loaded correctly. I appreciate the
help I just did not have the patients to wait.
