Bug Description

I am using KMyMoney 4.6.6 on KDE 4.14.13 platform.

KMyMoney has no icons, except for Home, Payees and Scheduled transactions.

I tried different Icon Themes (Tango, Breeze, Ivy, Oxygen, Simply Elegant ...), but no avail. The only difference is in Tango there is a plain document page icon and the others have only question marks.

Please fix this, because it is very confusing to choose the right button!

Add this ppa and upgrade to KMyMoney 4.7.2.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:claydoh/kmymoney2-kde4
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install kmymoney

The icons are back then. Ubuntu 15.10 uses an old and broken version (4.6.6) from 2014.

This bug is still there in Ubuntu 16.04 (version from Feb 23th). Version is still 4.6.6, maybe it should be upraded to the new version?

Upgrading to 4.7.2 didn't fix the issue for me.

A lot of "painter not active" messages come up when launching from Terminal, but I'm unsure if these are relevant:
QPainter::begin: Widget painting can only begin as a result of a paintEvent
QPainter::translate: Painter not active
QPainter::setClipRect: Painter not active
QPainter::setPen: Painter not active
QPainter::setBrush: Painter not active
QPainter::drawRects: Painter not active
QPainter::setPen: Painter not active
QPainter::worldTransform: Painter not active

New fresh Ubuntu 16.04, I have the same issue with 4.6.6 and 4.7.2.
Installing on a laptop with an upgrade from Ubuntu 14.04, and no icon issue with 4.6.6.
Tried to catch differences between the 2 installation,
copied icons in /usr/share/icons, replaced binaries, libs, ..., no effect...

Most issues from Ubuntu 15.10 remained for Ubuntu 16.04. I wonder why they still provide this deprecated KMyMoney version from 2014. After the upgrade from 15.10 to 16.04 KMyMoney 4.7.2 lost some icons, but not all icons as with deprecated 4.6.6 version.

Upgrading kmymoney to 7.7.2 didn't work.

Well, in case someone else needs it in the future. The issue is because the icons on the theme are not yet created. So depending on which theme you're using some icons will not exist. In the case of Ubuntu 16.04 some icons (specially the skip transaction) don't exist. A temporary fix:

Execute `kcmshell4 icons` in a console and select `Oxygen`. This theme seems to have all of them.

The same here : ubuntu-gnome 16.04, prehistoric KMyMoney 4.6.6-2, kde-runtime 4:15.12.3-0ubuntu1.
"kcmshell4 icons" do the trick, thank you a lot, for the do/skip transaction.

But in fine, it's kmymoney 4.6.6-2 that does not pick the icons it should in its package and its dependency. kmymoney has broken icons.

Same problem here in Xubuntu 16.04 but using the version 4,8,0 from the ppa mentioned above:-

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:claydoh/kmymoney2-kde4
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install kmymoney

has now solved it for me and I have all the icons back.

Same for me in fresh installation of Linux Mint 18.3 (Ubuntu 16.04). The installation of the 4.8.0 version doesn't solve the problem :-( .

I have no formatted the partition and re-used the same home folder. Is it the cause of the problem ?

-> Categories, Grand livres, Placements, Prévisions (in french) have no icon.

This still affects KDE 5.11. So my guess is that KMyMoney hasn't been ported yet to KDE5? I says its platform version is 4.14.16. Will there be a port anytime soon?
