kio-tmp causes dolphin slowness

What I expected to happen:
I expect dolphin to open quickly and right-click menu to open instantly.

What happens instead:
Dolphin takes several seconds to start and right-click menu takes a further few seconds to open.

Using apt-get to remove kio-mtp results in dolphin opening instantly and right-click menu opening instantly.
Re-installing the kio-mtp package brings back the slow start and right-click menu.
