Could you check if this bug exists in Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid)?
I've backported ffmpeg packages from Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid) to Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) and now I'm packaging kino 1.3.1 for Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) - I can include your patch if this is needed for kino 1.3.1 when using with ffmpeg from Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid

I found noch live cd of interpid, and I do not have time to install interpid using the alternate installer.
can you give me access to your packages for hardy?

Anyone can download Kino 1.3.0 for Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy" diff.gz sources and deb file from Baltix GNU/Linux repository:

ftp://ftp.akl.lt/Linux/Baltix/Baltix-Ubuntu-packages/hardy/kino-video-editor/

Backported ffmpeg packages from Ubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid" is available at my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~mantas/+archive), but my kino packages still use old ffmpeg, which is included with Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy"

The script for exporting from hardy's kino through ffmpeg uses parameters, which are supported by older versions of ffmpeg, but not the version of ffmpeg of hardy. My patch adapts adapts an exporting script to hardy's ffmpeg version.
