Bug Description

Binary package hint: kicad

Eeschema works fine with kwin, but tends to leave 'shadows' of components and the cursor when using compiz.

Using:

Eeschema Build Version:
EESchema (2007-05-25) - Unicode version

Compiz 1:0.6.2

Thanks for your report.

Here is a screenshot of what I see under compiz'

To reproduce it :
Move the cursor fast over the window. Some seconds later, cursor "ghost" will appear.

Can be solved by upgrading to the latest ppa version:
sudo add-apt-repository --yes ppa:js-reynaud/kicad-4
sudo apt update
sudo apt install kicad

Is it possible for one of the package maintainers to package the PPA version instead?

This package has been built against the wrong version of wxWidgets (see the comment in https://bugs.launchpad.net/kicad/+bug/1768324) which renders it totally unusable in Ubuntu Bionic.

Would be great if one of the Ubuntu Universe package maintainers could fix this. Seems like it shouldn't a big issue...
