Thumbnails won't load

Bug Description

After installing kflickr on a clean Intrepid installation, I found that when I added photos, the thumbnails didn't load, instead kflickr just displayed a 'broken thumbnail' icon.

This used to be a problem on Hardy too, except that it could be easily fixed by installing some packages that kflickr was dependant on:

sudo apt-get install kdebase-kio-plugins

However, it appears that as Intrepid uses a newer version of KDE, the package above can no longer be installed

sudo apt-get install kdebase-kio-plugins

现在没有可用的软件包 kdebase-kio-plugins,但是它被其它的软件包引用了。
这可能意味着这个缺失的软件包可能已被废弃,
或者只能在其他发布源中找到
可是下列的软件包取代了它:
  mediamanager

Ok, the chinese above basically says that there isn't a package called kdebase-kio-plugins but that it has been 'absorbed' into another package called 'mediamanager'. I installed mediamanager too but to no avail.

Any suggestions on how I can get this working again?
Also, here is a handy blog post on the issue: http://sprayfly.com/2008/08/20/broken-thumbnails-in-kflickr-on-ubuntu-hardy-gnome/

This is due to the fact that Intrepid ships with KDE4 and the 0.9.1 release of kFlickr was prepared for KDE3. I suspect with some effort you could use 0.9.1 with KDE4 but why spend the time. A new release of kFlickr is now ready which is a port to KDE4. You can grab the debs from sourceforge and hopefully official packages for Intrepid will be ready soon.

Hi

Thanks for the update, I will try downloading the debs now and see if everything works ok.
Glad to hear that this is not the end of kflickr and that I should be able to continue using my favourite Linux flickr uploader.
