Bug Description

* ASIX AX88179 ethernet-to-USB device
* Neither the status light or the link light go on - device does not appear to be initialized
* Device was working properly months ago using Ubuntu 18.x
* Device shows up when using 'lsusb':

Adding another log here, when attaching an Anker usb hub with ax88179_178a. As can be seen at the end of the log, the link is established and can function (i.e. ping, load web pages, etc.) despite the two "Failed to read reg index" errors.

I found this temporary fix:

sudo rmmod ax88179_178a && sudo modprobe usbnet
