Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdocker

With hardy (8.04), and Compiz enabled (with indirect rendering turned on), running the command "kdocker -m -d evolution" from a command line does not work correctly. I get the error "QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image" on the console, and no icon appears in the panel. For some applications (e.g. "kdocker -m -d gedit" ) the icon shows up correctly, while others (e.g. "kdocker -m -d xterm" ) fail to create an icon.

Using kdocker version 1.3-0ubuntu3.

I can confirm this with the same version, on 8.04. Kdocker seems to work with everything I try except Evolution. When I try to manually specify icons, it still reports the same error. However, if I start Evolution, then use kdocker to send the existing window to the tray, it works perfectly.

I can confirm this same behavior with Hardy and Compiz enabled.

Same problem here on Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10. But I do not have compiz enabled. But it is working on openSUSE 11.0 with Gnome 2.22, so this doesn't seem to be Gnome related.

When I try
docker -f -d "ipblock -g" &
with compiz enabled
it works, but with an invisible(or no?) icon

When I try
docker -f -d "ipblock -g" &
after a
kwin --replace &
An icon will appear in the status bar, but
It's background isn't the taskbar color, and
the left click to alternate between show and hide doesn't work.

Note: This doesn't happen when I try to use kdocker with korganizer, and thunderbird
kdocker -d "/usr/bin/korganizer" &
kdocker -d thunderbird &
I'm using KUbuntu 8.04 64 bit with KDE 3.5.10

It was working and then it quit working after I did a sudo killall ... now after a

I get
Failed to exec [ipblock -g]: No such file or directory
not really sure what happened...

Even weirder,
I did a
killall kdocker ...
and after that every time I run
ipblock -g
I get the icon in the tray, with the left click to show/hide not working and the background of the tray icon isn't the right color.
That's right, I get a tray icon, even without the 'kdocker' command!
---
later on...
after re-login etc...
I ran
Ipblock -g &
then
kdocker &
I get
"Select the application/window to dock with button1.
Click any other button to abort"
Then I click on the ipblock window, and get the blank tray icon that works, and this message:
QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image
