Quanta crashes when adding files to a project

Bug Description

Several times, when I've created a new page in a project, and save it with save
as to an FTP server (which I'm working off of), Quanta will save it, then ask if
I'd like to add the file to the project I'm working on. If I click yes, Quanta
promptly hangs.

same problem occurs if I attempt to add the files by the "insert files into
project" option.

First time using Quanta on Ubuntu. I've installed Ubuntu 5.10 followed by KDE on
AMD64 dual-core. Started up Quanta, created a file, and then tried to create a
new project. In the New Project wizard, I created a subdirectory in which to
store my .prj file. Got the following error when it crashed.

same problem, it saves the file, then hangs when it tries to add to the project.

Could you please try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash ? Thanks .

Bert (berthartm) wrote : backtrace of crash (using ver. 3.4.3 on Breezy, KDE 3.5)

backtrace of the crash, used 3.4.3 (instead of 3.4.5) because thats what the source version was.

because it's not a crash, but a hang, I had to manually kill it.

It's interesting that in kubuntu 8.04 everyting worked fine, but when I installed kubuntu 8.10 I have this problem too. When I try to add new file to the project or create a new file in the project window, quanta hangs. When project is stored locally, it works.

any workaround maybe? any idea how to add file into project with projectfile stored on remote ftp?

following helps me as workaround, bug is still exists

1. close quanta
2. manually open project file (.webprj) with any text editor - it's simply xml file
3. find string with neighbouring file (for example if you want to add getuser.php - find getinfo.php) and add new string here with the file you're trying to add.
eg add
    <item modified_time="1204146000" url="admin/getuser.php" uploadstatus="1" />
i'm not sure should it be added exactly near the neighbouring file's string but made it just in case
4. save&close this file
5. open quanta and open your project

affects: kdewebdev (Ubuntu) → kdewebdev-kde3 (Ubuntu)

Closing this, as Quanta and KDE3 or both unmaintained upstream. Fix is unlikely.
