Bug Description

I tried a dozen or so stations from all over the world, all of which reported either that the station didn't exist or that it was down for maintenance. Seems unlikely to be accurate.

Kweather2.1.0 (Using KDE 3.5.2)

I have experienced the same situation.
Running Kubuntu 6.0.6 Dapper Beta 2.
Display Setup:
- Display dropdown window shows 'Unknown Station' though I can enter city in WeatherService menu.

I keep getting a reminder: 'The station reports it needs maintenance'.

I wonder if you were right the first time or the second time. I get both messages, apparently arbitrarily.

I meant right the first time *and* the second time.

I also get the same, but it works fine in Kontact's summary view.

 This can be fixed manually by editing ~/.kde/share/config/weather_panelappletrc and changing (while the applet isn't running):
 report_location=0000
 to:
 report_location=XXXX
 XXXX is the city code. You can find out your city code by going here: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/rcsg/cdrom/ismcs/alphaname.html
 And here the same 'fix' is mentioned (from which I got the previous link): http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=446240

Confirmed on Hardy KDE3: stations don't work, I get the 'station not found' -message.

But the fix works here as well..
