Bug Description

Binary package hint: adept

When I run the Adept package manager or installer, two tray entries for it appear. They both have the application's name correctly. One has the appropriate Adept icon and the other has the icon of a page with a question mark.

The tray entry with the appropriate Adept icon appears to be non-functional. After a delay of approximately 30-40 seconds, it disappears and the other tray entry, which IS functional, remains.

I've attached a screen shot of this behavior.

Hi, do you still see this with the latest version (3.0~beta2ubuntu4)?

I believe I can clarify this bug. I don't get dual tray entries when Adept launches after the "enter your password" dialog, but I do if I open Adept during the window of time when I have the superuser privileges.

Ah, good catch. ;-)
This is an issue that affects any app running from kdesudo when you already have admin powers. You can use kmenuedit to make a dolphin entry that launches with kdesudo to test this. If you already have admin powers the same bug will happen.

I can confirm this behavior. Present since KDE 4.0.
