Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdesdk
Starting with KDE 4.3.5, Kate consistently crashes when saving a file that got modified by an external process. This makes it unusable when working with a version control system such as Perforce (and probably same with SVN, git, etc.).
There are several KDE bugs related to this:

Actually, there's no need to even save a file. Any action - closing it, modifying it again by an external program, etc. - causes a crash.
Can KDE 4.3.4 be made available again? This is ridiculous - I don't have a working text editor anymore.
