Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdesdk

Umbrello refuses to save anything on my system. Ubuntu Karmic amd64, up to date.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open Umbrello
2) Press save
3) Type any filename at all
4) Watch it error

It does not actually save, nor does it output any additional error information to the terminal, nor does it crash or anything of that sort. It appears to proceed as though ti saved - pressing the Save button (and not Save As) will pop up the same "There was a problem saving file: $FILENAME" dialog as prior.

Perhaps an unhandled save error condition? I don't know, I'm just using ext4, there's several GB free on the drive, no quotas in play, and the directory in question was experimentally marked 777 owned by my user, to no avail.

The blog with the solution is not accessible. Could anybody describe the workaround here?
