Bug Description

Binary package hint: akregator

The app crashes everytime I start it up.

I have managed to duplicate the problem by copying the data files in /.kde/share/apps/akregator to another computer. It seems that the files have somehow been corrupted by the app, even though I had shut the app down cleanly before the problem surfaced.

Deleting /.kde/share/apps/akregator solved the crash problem, albeit at the cost of losing data.

I have discovered that the problem is caused by a corrupted .mk4 file. Isolating and removing the offending feed file using a cut and paste approach with a file manager allowed me to solve the crash problem without losing my data.

Unfortunately, without the backtrace from the crash, there is nothing we can do to diagnose this issue

Yes, but this is already being tracked at the upstream bug anyways. It's not a downstream issue.
