Thanks for reporting this bug.

Does this bug still occur with all current updates installed?
Is it reproducible, i.e. does it happen on every start up?

Thanks

After the updates since I posted this bug, I no longer get apport messages on startup that akregator crashed... probably because it is no longer in the session on startup. However whenever I try to load akregator the cursor just bounces and akregator shows up in the taskbar for a few seconds and then it goes away and nothing happens.

so, essentially, everything is still the same and it is reproducible. If there is anything else I can do to help, let me know.

This sounds like a different bug to the original crash. It sounds a lot like bug 270799. Do you use archiving on any of your feeds? If so I think that might be the cause of the new problem. Could you paste the output of the command 'sudo apt-cache policy akregator' This should be fixed in version 4.1.2-0ubuntu2.

In the short term the work around as described in 270799 is to try removing the file ~/.kde/share/apps/akregator/Archive

I was using 4.1.2-0ubuntu2

Deleting the Archive director fixed the problem. Thank you.
