Bug Description

Normally kontact can sync my calender and my adressbook with an Imap-Ressource of Kmail. But with
kubunu kde 3.4.x it doesn't work, because I can't create an working Imap-Ressource. This is terrible,
I need my calender and my contact.
debug-messages:
kontact: WARNING: KDCOPServiceStarter: No service implementing DCOP/RessourceBackend/IMAP
kressources: ERROR: Couldn't connect to the IMAP ressource backend
...

Same issue here. This is the core of KDE's collaborative centralized storage
strategy for groupware. I've been banging my head against this one for some
time now.

The GUI window says this:
"No writable resource was found, saving will not be possible. Reconfigure KMail
first."

"kcmshell kresources" crashes when adding a new IMAP Storage (as instructed at
http://people.fruitsalad.org/phil/kde/userguide-tng/kontact-imap-clients.html)

Thank you for your time and valued efforts!

I get no error messages, but my contacts list is empty when my only resource is the kmail-imap resource. There seems to be no way to resync, but if I move all my contacts from the Contacts folder to another folder and back, my contact list is restored.

I have a similar problem:

I just set up a calendar ressource in an IMAP folder. Yesterday, it worked great, but now calendar and tasks are empty. The entries are still in the IMAP folder, but they are no longer displayed in the tasks and calendar views.

The problem still persists. Is there a way to debug it (AFAIK there's no "korganizer --verbose"-command)?

For some odd reason, I've been working well for some time. I don't remember what I did. Perhaps I installed a nonstandard version?

Calendar and Contact and ToDo entries work for me.
I'm still having issues with the IMAP Journal entries, but I believe that's a different bug report.

Hmm, 3.4.3 looks like breezy, I use dapper:

martin@garrett:~$ LANG=C apt-cache policy korganizer

I suspect the poster meant 3.5.3, where I still have this problem.

This bug has always been sort of off and on, but presently I can't reproduce it in 3.5.4. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on it. Any other confirmers/subscribers please feel free to reopen if necessary.

I have a feeling that it is not a problem in the package, but in my configuration (bluntly, "some stuff in my ~/.kde/ folder"). When I have some time off this or next week, I'll dump my .kde folder and rebuild my profile, and report back if it worked.

Ok, I hat some free time _now_, and I did it:
(btw. since yesterday, I'm running edgy, just dist-upgraded a few hours ago)

- SIGKILLed all KDE applications
- removed ~/.kde/ and .kderc
- started kontact, and configured all my accounts. The account with my PIM data is on a cyrus IMAP server in my basement, of course running Dapper.
- Configured the Calendar to use the IMAP ressource in my IMAP account, still with german folder names.

Still no luck, my Calendar entries etc. are not displayed.
I created a test appointment, but I get a message box saying that saving is not possible.

Maybe the data _inside_ the PIM mail objects is damaged, here is one of my Todo list entries for examination:
