Bug Description

I've installed the new kdenlive packages on Jaunty. Kdenlive has a very high CPU usage, even in idle state as long as the winow has got the focus: In most cases it takes 59-63% and also lifts Xorg up to 26-32% on a CoreDuo 1.6 GHz machine for doing nothing at all.
As soon as the window looses focus (it doesn't depend if it keeps shown or not) the CPU usage is low again (under 10% for all processes together).

I guess the kdenlive window is redrawn far too often. If the Clipmonitor is open then there is a flickering line under the "C" of the tab title "Clipmonitor".

I've downloaded the Builder Wizward from kdenlogve.org which downloads and builds the newest SVN version. This version of kdenlive hasn't got the problem described above, so i is very likely that something went wrong on packaging or this bug was resolved in the SVN version.

Sorry, the URL is kdenlive.org of course and not kdenlogve.org

The same to me. I have tried the binaries for Ubuntu 8.10 and compiling from svn with the wizard (both from kdenlive.org) with no success.

In both cases kdenlive starts but after this, without doing anything the cpu is working at 30%. Changing the focus to another window the cpu becomes idle. I have noticed the same flickering effect.

That's quite old; report with newer active version if needed
