Binary package hint: kopete
Hi all,
We tried to report this in the official tracker, but were told that this is likely an ubuntu-specific bug, and thus we should report here. Unfortunately, Malone doesn't allow me to file a kopete bug.
The mentioned KDE.org bug is https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142062
Whenever I have a Jabber account (or two) set up, Kopete takes ages to load and there are yellow alert exclamation marks on the plugin icons in the status bar for a while. Exiting is similarly sluggish.
Bram Schoenmakers says that: "[The plugin's files] should be installed in $KDEDIR/share/apps/kopete_jabber/ . If it's not, then Ubuntu hacked something together that the file is not on the right place or not present at all." -- indeed no such directory was present, while other plugins all had their respective directories, with some files in them.
Could someone better at C++ than I am please look into this? |

We tried to report this in the official tracker, but were told that this is likely an ubuntu-specific bug, and thus we should report here. Unfortunately, Malone doesn't allow me to file a kopete bug directly, so I’m kinda cheating my way around.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 alpha? |
Oh yeah, that's newer than 0.50.80. The Kopete peeps forgot to bump the version number for 4.1.0 so I assumed they hadn't for 4.1.1. Guess not. ;-) Anyway, closing fixed as a fixed package is available for Intrepid. |
