Bug Description

Kubuntu 6.06 Live

On running kppp the user receives an error message that resolv.conf is missing from /etc. [console, touch /etc/resolv.conf]

After successful configuration of an ISP and modem in kppp it errors out with return code 1. User is directed to /usr/share/doc/kppp/README.Debian and from there to /etc/ppp/peers where they are required to uncomment the line noauth in kppp-options.

User shouldn't have to create empty files or amend obscure text files which have been set up to ensure their modem won't work.

It help a lot to separate each thing in different bug reports.
Missing resolv.conf is a different bug than noauth option.
Made it a duplicate of bug #36655 because it is clean.
I just made an other bug about missing resolv.conf to
reappear by removing it as a dup of noauth bug. So I
know this bug about resolv.conf still exist somewhere.

Yes, this sort of thing should not be escaping quality checking. My goodness, KPPP has been around quite awhile now.
