Invisible text (black background) while typing, with only a particular ICQ contact

Kopete in Kubuntu Karmic (KDE 4.3b2) displays text while typing as black on black.
This is only with a particular ICQ contact, others work just like before.

WORKAROUND: (mentioned in KDE bug report)
The "reset color & font" button in chat window should fix it

I've not had this happen to me again, so closing as fixed seems appropriate.

However, something similar happened just now with the Microblogging widget in KDE 4.4RC2: Bug 224216

Hi, I am experiencing same bug with Kopete. Black letters and black background of letters. And it appears only for a certain contact, not everyone.
I tried changing themes, at first it was temporary solution until new logging in, but now it doesn't help anymore.
In attachment is a screenshot. My letters are displayed in black.

Milovan, which version of Kopete / Kubuntu / Ubuntu are you using?

Apparently this got fixed, but you may be using an older version still.

I am using Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. Kopete version is 1.0.0, KDE version is 4.4.2.
I noticed today that when user is online and not in invisible mode while chatting, everything is ok.

I've re-opened this (and the upstream bug report), then noticed, that a workaround was posted previously.

I've run into this bug as well (kopete 4.4.2-0ubuntu4, Kubuntu 10.04, amd64) although I have no idea what I did to trigger it.

The previous work around doesn't work for me -- there doesn't seem to be a "reset color & font" button anywhere. font. There don't appear to be any toolbar buttons for controlling the font that I can see.

I've discovered another work around:

Quite Kopete, then open up ~/.kde/share/config/kopeterc and delete all the settings under the "[chatwindow_{blahblahblah}]" sections, especially the bits about TextBgColor, then restart kopete, and all the chat windows will be back to normal.
