Bug Description

Binary package hint: kmix

When using KDE on ltsp-based (ltsp5) thin clients in Ubuntu 8.04, you can't use kmix to control the volume, since it doesn't find the mixer. Sound does work otherwise, with both ESD and ALSA. This seems to be a known issue (see https://wiki.kubuntu.org/LtspKdeTools). The "current mixer" dropdown is blank and when you hover the mouse over it in the tray it says "Mixer cannot be found".

The version of kmix is 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu2.

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
