Bug Description

I'm running a fresh install of the Gutsy Kubuntu.

From my phone I am able to pair up my computer. Then, going to bluetooth:/ in Konqueror, I am also able to push and get files.

However, when I try to send anything to the phone, it always tells me it can't connect.

Can this be fixed?

Similar to previous except I can't send from my phone to the PC, worked fine in Feisty until the upgrade to Gutsy.

I also have this problem.. unable to send from phone to computer through bluetooth (kbluetooth missing).

Could someone please communicate with the bluetooth threads to let us know a) that the bug-control fellows are working on this and b) when can expect some more news

Many thanks

I forgot to say im using Ubuntu (no Kubuntu) so it may not be related to kdebluetooth

"Ubuntu" solution:
Install 'Bluetooth file sharing' from the Applications menu-> Add/Remove -> Accesories

It has to be running to see your PC from the phone.

I have Bluetooth file sharing installed, Traz, and it still doesn't
permit phone to see computer... computer can send to phone but not phone
to computer.

Thanks for the try!

As I said I am able to see to pair up the computer from my phone. So my phone does see my computer. So Traz's problem is unrelated to my issue.

daka, make sure your computer is set to 'visible' in the bluetooth preferences and bluetooth file sharing running.

I think, I had the same problem sending files from my phone to my computer using OBEX-push. The kdebluetooth-package is missing /usr/lib/kdebluetooth/servers/kbtobexsrv. After recompiling the package with this file added to debian/kdebluetooth.install (see attached patch) and installing the new package, it works for me.

Thanks Holger, that's indeed the problem. Your answer led me to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebluetooth/+bug/155417 which also includes a link to a deb, which is a bit easier for me, since I do not quite know how to follow your instructions....

I guess this means this one is also a dupe. Shame this wasn't noticed by the experts.
