Floppy devices in KDE not mounting or showing up correctly (USB?)

Bug Description

I'm not quite sure what to assign this bug to yet, as I only have my one USB floppy system to test with.

When inserting a usb floppy drive I am presented with the option to open in a new window or do nothing from KDE.

Open in New Window - does nothing, it does not mount nor open a window.

When I navigate to "Storage Media" in kde the floppy device is not listed, however since this now points to /media instead of media:/ I would expect it not to show there since it wasn't mounted and no folder was created. I can live with this - let's not go back to media:/ :)

At this point I'm not sure if this is a HAL or a KDE issue, I ask that people who have legacy floppies and usb floppies both to test and share their results here.

Thank you for the bug report.

I remember a bug similar to this a while back, and I think it was later fixed. Are you still having problems? If so, what version of Kubuntu and KDE are you using?

Changed in kdebase:
assignee: nobody → ash211
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

That bug I mentioned was bug 30207, which I see you have found. I'm marking this bug a duplicate of that one.
