Bug Description

Binary package hint: konqueror

I have a mounted USB memory stick:

/dev/sda1 on /media/sda1 type vfat (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,quiet,shortname=mixed,uid=1000,gid=1000,umask=077,iocharset=utf8)

Clicking on the memory stick icon opens a konqueror window to the location: media:/sda1

I double-click on a file "timecard.gnumeric" to open the file with the gnumeric spreadsheet.

Gnumeric fails with an error "Invalid URI" and terminates.

The reason is because the file is being launched with the command:

gnumeric media:/sda1/timecard.gnumeric

and gnumeric does not understand that URI.

The problem is that gtk apps don't support KIO slaves. As of Edgy, clicking the memory stick icon should instead open /media/sda1.
