Bug Description

Binary package hint: konqueror

I set Ctrl-H as a shortcut for "Show hidden files" in Konqueror for file browsing. This works in Icon and MultiColumn View's.

However:
- If I set "Show hidden files" (either via shortcut or menu), and switch to a)Tree View, b)Info List View, c)Detailed List View, or d)Text View, hidden files are no more shown. (This could probably be an issue for a separate bug report in itself, though.)

- Furthermore, the set shortcut of Ctrl-H does _not_ work in the four view modes listed above. Menu (using mouse) for this works, so the option itself is implemented.

Konqueror version 3.4.3 in KDE 3.4.3, Kubuntu Breezy.

This behavior persists in Kubuntu Edgy (AMD64). There is no keyboard shortcut for "Show hidden files" by default, but after adding one, I got behavior identical to what the submitter described. Upon further investigation, it appears Konqueror actually has two different options that are both called "Show hidden files":

In Icon and MultiColumn Views, everything works as expected.

In Tree, Info List, Detailed List, and Text Views, my shortcut doesn't work anymore, and it's not listed in the menu (it was listed in Icon and MultiColumn Views). Adding it when in any one of these views puts it back in the menu and things work as expected here too.

The state of the View hidden files option is not carried over between the first group (Icon, MultiColumn) and second group (Tree, Info List, Detailed List, Text) of views, but retains its state within each group.

Image View doesn't appear to be able to display hidden files at all. It doesn't use the setting from any of the other views, and the menu option is not present while the view is active. It does retain the shortcut keys from Icon and MultiColumn views, but the shortcut I added for Show hidden files doesn't work.

Set Importance to low since there is an easy workaround. The issue is not that it does not show hidden files at all, but there are two groups of display form that save the status seemingly in a different "place".

This is still confirmed on KDE 3.5.9
