Bug Description

9.10
ntfs disk is visible on the places list...
When clicked dolphin displays this message:

org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume.InvalidMountOption : The option 'locale=en_US.UTF-8' is not allowed for uid=1000

so mount is unsuccessfull.

installing ntfs-config and selecting this disk and labeling a mount point allows the disk to be correctly mounted.
The interesting detail is that after pressing Ok on ntfs-config the disk icon on dolphin adds a mini sign with a usb port..

Ok, found one cause of this, if the NTFS is not shut down cleanly, it will fail. had the same thing happen with fat filesystems as well.

affects: dolphin (Ubuntu) → kdebase (Ubuntu)

iirc ntfs mounting was broken a bit before 9.10 was released. Should be fixed now.

Changed in kdebase (Ubuntu):
