Bug Description

This bug is unrelated to bug 5346. When accessing certain embedded movie files in Konqueror on Dapper Flight 3 Konqueror will crash. After watching one embedded movie, attempting to watch a second one also crashes Konqueror also.

Here's an example at:
http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/748/748368/vids_1.html
Clicking watch this trailer low-res for "Developer Interview (02/10/2006)" letting it play, then reopening it will crash the browser.

Also having a video open then right click here to save file while the video has played, or is playing will crash the browser. An example for this is at http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/10275/TOCA-Race-Driver-3s-Damage-Engine-In-Action/
click the WMP screenshot, let the video load, and below the video should be a link to save to your computer.

I had this problem with Kubuntu 5.10 but now I switched to Ubuntu and Totem works great :P I think there are too many of these "small" problems in KDE and that's why I chose Gnome recently.

I have this problem, and it is very annoying. I've had it with kaffeine in fedora core 3 & 4, Mandriva, and now kubuntu. I think it has a problem with closing the xvid session withing konqueror. Kaffeine plays the media fine, so it has to do with the terminating the video from within konqueror.

There is no known way to resolves this since the only workaround is a hack upstream doesn't want to perform.
This only appears with certain version of xorg (maybe ubuntu's package is responsible for this).
Decision has been taken to make usage of kmplayer has konqueror's embedded player for dapper.
It has been widely tested and works very nicelly.
It is actually shipped with kubuntu-desktop package, and kubuntu-default-settings sets konqueror to use it for embedded readding.
