Kate reports "malformed URL" on startup and every file operation

Bug Description
This is a fresh Dapper (kubuntu) install. When launching Kate for the first time, I got an error "malformed URL". I got the same error when trying to save a file. It's gone now, but I believe the default path it was using was "media:/dev/sda", although it might have been "media:/dev/sdb".

This sounds fixed, and I can't reproduce it.
