Bug Description
After upgrading to KDE 3.5.1 from kubuntu packages, the keyboard layout contols vanished (as described in bugs #30278 and #30295). Application of the suggested fix corrected the problem. Though another problem appeared.
I have two layouts selected: "us(basic)" and "ru(winkeys)". Changing the layout to Russian changes it correctly, but after switching to another window and switching back, the layout is restored as "ru", not as "ru(winkeys)", as reported by xkbprint (if switching policy is set to window or application). Similarly, English layout is restored as "us" instead of "us(basic)".
If both windows have the same layout selected, then no change actually occurs and layout variant is preserved correctly.
