Bug Description

Binary package hint: dolphin

I use Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE 3.5.10 and Dolphin 0.9.2-0ubuntu6.1.

ChatZilla creates folders for its chat log files with the name like the IRC server including the port (if there is one). Thus there is a folder irc.freenode.net%3a8001 for the server irc.freenode.net:8001. Konqueror can enter this directory with no problem, but Dolphin cannot open it, I get the error message "file or folder irc.freenode.net:8001 does not exist".

I created folders with real colons in it, like test:1, those don't cause this problem.

I have installed dolphin-kde4 to test if the problem exists there, too, but I can't figure out how to start it.

Installing dolphin-kde4 should add a Dolphin/KDE4 entry to KMenu.
You could also launch it manually by running this: "/usr/lib/kde4/bin/dolphin"

Okay, in dolphin-kde4 it doesn't happen anymore.

Fixed in kdebase from Intrepid on, won't be fixed for the kde3 version of Dolphin as it is unmaintained and has large architectural differences.

Changed in kdebase:
status: New → Fix Released
Changed in dolphin:
status: New → Won't Fix
