Bug Description

Breezy with all the upgrades: media:/ should show all my drives (a cdrom drive and a dvd burner).
However, icons only appears when I put a disc into them.

I see this as well. it worked with kde 3.4.3 that shipped with breezy but after
the 19 October kdebase hal fixes, this broke again.

The same happens in my case, also, and more importantly, since the 19 Oct.
update I cannot see my 2nd HD (sdb1, both HD's are SATA) in media:/ but t is
mounted, and I can see it in /media/sdb1

For me this bug is not fixed (and should be reopened), since i have only a lovely floppy icon in media:/.
Also i think (but maybe i'm wrong), that this bug is unrelated with #15027 since I haven't reported problem with hotplug
(as I said in my first message, cd icons appeard if I put a disk in it)

When using the hal backend media:/ should only show devices which exist or contain media, floppys
being an exception since they can't be detected. So this is the correct behaviour.

No. Hard drives which exist are not shown. So this is not correct behaviour.
