Bug Description

KDE Control Center --> Appearance & Themes --> Icons

Click "Crystal SVG", then "Gnome", then "KDE Classic", then "Gnome" again.
The sample icons at the top don't change when you switch to "Gnome" regardless
of what the previous icon set was, presumably because the icons for the
sample don't exist in the Gnome set.

If an icon set doesn't have icons for the sample icons, the sample should be blank.

I don't see anywhere to list a version in this bugzilla.

This is Ubuntu "breezy" 5.10; problem persists with package kde-5:44ubuntu2

Hmm, even on an up-to-date Dapper install, the only two that work for me are Tango and Crystal SVG. Is this by design? Thank you.

Do you still have this problem on Edgy or Feisty with KDE 3.5.6?

I can't recall installs it, but that GNOME icon theme is, as the name says, for GNOME. So normally, icon themes made for GNOME will not work or display properly on KDE, even just on the Control Center.

Yurly,

The problem seems to be fixed in Edgy. Without seeing incorrect behaviour in the utility, I can now switch among several icon sets (including the GNOME one, which works but isn't pretty).

I would close the report, if somebody would tell me how...

I wonder how long it would have taken me to figure that out...
