Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdm
KDM crashes, if I connect to it via XDMCP (I use Xephyr)
It shows the login screen,, then I enter username/password, and then it gets back to
password prompt.
Looking at dmesg, shows (I use 2.6.24-rc6 vanilla kernel, and have no trouble with it)
Although it seems that apport doesn't work:
[ 4900.558350] kdm[8773]: segfault at 00000000 eip b7d04fb3 esp bf931d9c error 4
Trying to gdb the relevant kdm proccess (I used htop to figure it out) shows this:
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0xb7d04fb3 in strlen () from /lib/tls/
(gdb) bt
#0 0xb7d04fb3 in strlen () from /lib/tls/
#1 0xb7e21106 in ?? () from /usr/lib/
#2 0x00000000 in ?? ()
(gdb)
Steps to reproduce:
1) Enable XDMCP by editing
/etc/kde3/
[Xdmcp]
Enable=true
And in
/etc/kde3/
* #any host can get a login window
* CHOOSER BROADCAST #any indirect host can get a chooser
2) Try to connect to the host via XDMCP
Like Xnest -broadcast :1
System running latest hardy.
