Kdm times out on live cd

KDM times out when running from the live CD, falling back to the failsafe script

from daemon.log:

Aug 4 18:16:59 ubuntu kdm[1615]: X server startup timeout, terminating
Aug 4 18:17:12 ubuntu kdm[1615]: X server died during startup
Aug 4 18:17:12 ubuntu kdm[1615]: Failed to start X server. Starting failsafe X server.
